Before You Apply

Read the premise, setting, and rules to understand the game. This RPG is all about old-school nostalgia and escapism. You'll need to be active on the friends page, which you can do by posting engagement posts, participating in events, posting OTA threads, and commenting others. For mod run events, this game uses dice rolls and D&D-inspired mechanics.

Rules

• Respect all players

  Treat players with respect and bring issues to the mods if needed. Be kind and considerate to all players. There is no tolerance here for harassment or bullying. Keep all IC and OOC knowledge separate. Comment on and engage with the friends page. Do not god mod.

• Journals

  Choose a name that fits your character. It can be IC or OOC as long as it's relevant. Avoid numbers or underscores where possible. No IP tracking or anon commenting. We do not allow journals that are used in multiple games.

• Biographies

  The mods request biopgraphies in order to sometimes pull background material from your character for missions and events. In order to be accepted, you need a backdated OOC post with a brief bio for your character. It should be 2–6 paragraphs or 6–10 bullet points, you can include skill lists, personality types etc. Bios should generally follow canon when applicable (i.e., they come from the main MCU timeline) but can have creative elements where there are ambiguities. Characters can come from any adaptation or alternative timeline that's been shown in Marvel productions. All bios must include the last memory before being summoned please make this a canon event. Going forward, all MCU characters should come from their last canon point on screen. Due to the numerous projects in the MCU please describe their last canon on screen moment as their last memory before being summoned.

• Mixing Comics Histories with MCU for Background

  MCU applicants can add elements from Marvel Comics to fill background that has not been developed in film or media projects. This information cannot alter canon events in the main MCU timeline. This is meant as a way to clear up ambiguities or areas where details about the character are vague.

• Backdated Posts:

  In order to apply you need a minimum of two seperate backdated posts, one post that contains a biography and allows people to contact you OOC and an IC backdated post for people to contact you IC.

• Character Limit: We strongly recommend only two characters per writer, but this is not a hard rule if you think you can meet the activity requirements. Because we pair writers up in activities we request you notify the mods if you are bringing in an additional character so you do not get paired up with yourself. If you do not notify us and you are paired up with yourself, we will not partner you with someone else.

Activity Requirements

Activity is about engagement and development. There are many options to meet the acceptable level of activity. Posts that you submit for activity should consist of original content written by you. Being active on the friends page by commenting other posts and engaging with the comments that respond to you is also part of your activity. Your activity posts do not count if you do not engage with other people's interactive posts in game.

Valid combos for activity include:
- 1 engagement post + 1 development post
- 1 development or engagement post + 1 thread
- 2 engagement posts
- 1 engagement or development post + substantial engagement with the group or team activity
- 2 links to subsantial engagement on mod run events or missions (substantial engagement is determined by the post requirements)
- 2 development posts while being active on the friends page

Engagement posts are public and interactive, you must respond to the majority of comments on these posts for them to count.

Development posts are things like narratives, thoughts, private playlists, threads etc.

Comment on the activity drop-off post with your links by month’s end.

Introductions
- post an entry of any kind within 48 hours of being accepted.

Group Missions Optional Requirement
Four months out of the year one team has a week-long group activity. If it’s your team’s turn, you can engage with the activity or meet normal monthly activity instead, group activities are always optional but we encourage you to try them. At this time, all team events are open to all members of this game.

Community-Wide Events
Every month there will be at least one mod run event for engagement in addition to the mission. These are usually within the Habitat and social gatherings. We will try to include a wide array of events to cover a lot of interests. For missions and events we are always open to suggestions.

Hiatus
You can reqeust a hiatus for a maxium of 3 weeks and a hiatus cannot be requested back to back. If you are unable to participate in this game for more than three weeks you will need to leave the game until you are able to return.

Overrides
At this time, we do not allow overrides, however this rule could change in the future.

Who Can Apply

• MCU Characters: Any character who has appeared in the MCU can apply and you can apply that character from any timeline or variation that has appeared in the MCU. You must apply with the actor who portrayed that character on screen.
• X-Men Characters: X-Men are also welcome under the same rules as MCU characters.
• Marvel Comics Characters: These are characters who have never appeared in the MCU or XCU. Please avoid using faces that appear in the MCU or XCU for these characters.
• Marvel Comics Alternate Characters: This is a Marvel Comics timeline of a character who has appeared in the MCU. You cannot use the face of the MCU actor for this and and please note that the MCU timeline of this character is still open for an applicant.

How Dungeons & Dragons Mechanics Are Implemented

• Event Master/Mission Master: Operating like a Dungeon Master the EM/MM will control an event or mission from the mod journal. The rules of the event and mission are posted in the event or mission post.
• Consent to use of Background Material: Applying to this game is your express consent that an EM/MM may utlize background material from your character's biography without advanced warning or notice. This is a Dungeons and Dragons style game when it comes to events and missions. Like at the table, all info is known to the DM and they can utlize it when needed. All players are welcome to opt out of events or missions by simply not joining, but the mods are unable to make a patch-work approach to missions feasible. We opt everyone in and then you can opt yourself out. This way we are not adding people in who opted out but changed their mind after the fact. Some events are surprises and may come without warning. All missions are posted with dates ahead of time. We try to utlize background materials as a way to keep the missions and events interesting to you specifically.
• Dice Rolls: Rolling dice in missions is required where there is any unknown outcome. Unless otherwise stated, you can roll them for yourself in whatever manner you prefer or you can ask the mods to do it for you.
• Discord: Encouraged for OOC bonding but not a replacement for in-game activity.
